It’s Raining
Again
Water falls from the heavens to a thirsty earth
So her trees will drink and spread their arms to shelter me
her seas will teem with fish to feed me
And her people will discover resilience and tenacity
Against the the pitter patter of petty problems
Rain calls
poets to pour out psalms and canticles
And artists to play in color, line and form
As musicians produce harmonies and rhythms
Because, Johnnie knows…
They can do nothing else.
It’s raining.
