Marry Your Muse by Jan Phillips
At the very top of my list of influential writers for creativity as well as spirituality is Jan Phillips.
Jan writes out of a deep felt sense of call to speak to injustice out of her creativity in the arts, particularly photography and writing.
Her own personal saga includes being asked to leave a convent after just a few years because she “wasn’t suited” and ended up with a worldwide ministry not fed by doctrine of the church but driven by her authenticity as an artist and a servant.
Although her background is Roman Catholic her voice speaks to people of all faith traditions as she inspires writers, artists and people who have yet to discover their own creativity to use their gifts to feed a hurting hungry world.
I would not be writing today if it weren’t for the influence Jan Phillips has had on my life.
